There are five foundational steps in treating astigmatism at the time of cataract surgery: Educate, Measure, Treat, Track, and Fix. Methods will vary depending upon the patient’s level of preoperative cylinder and postoperative expectations. By carefully refining each step surgeons can improve results, decrease enhancements, build their confidence and grow their refractive practice.
