Challenging case of opaque cornea solved by phacoemulsification under temporary keratoprosthesis modified for easier phaco tip entrance and implantation of KPRO with proprietary soft acrylic back plate. Patient’s own thick vascularized cornea was used to host KPRO and was rotated to its original position to optimize healing and long-term KPRO retention to return vision after 16 years of blindness.
